Happy February, friends! I went to Trader Joe’s last week for the first time in a month (which I think is honestly a new record for me)! Before I dive into all of my February finds, let’s chat about a new item from my January Trader Joe’s Food Finds that we recently tried.
French Onion Macaroni & Cheese – YUM. Gary and I shared this as a quick lunch on a cold day, and it hit the spot! The caramelized onion and cheesy flavor was so comforting, and this is an item I’ll probably keep on hand in the freezer for those lazy days where we just want something that’s already prepared. If I had to rank this item out of 10, I’d probably give it an 8.
Now that that’s taken care of, let’s look at some fun items I grabbed at Trader Joe’s in the month of February! This month, my focus was on all things new! I must confess…I’m the person who looks at #traderjoes on Instagram before going to the store so I know what to keep an eye out for. That strategy definitely served me well in the month of February!
You know I love to grab seasonal items at Trader Joe’s, so these
Dark Chocolate Mini Heart Cookies ($2.99) were on my radar before I even walked into the store. They’d be a perfect addition to a special Valentine’s Day charcuterie board in my opinion! I purposely worked to get this post up before the 14th so you can run to the store and get yourself a box before they’re gone for the year!
I usually don’t purchase pre-made baked goods because I much prefer to make them myself, but the internet was raving about these Gluten-free Cinnamon Coffee Cake Muffins ($4.99) so I had to see what the fuss was about. I’ve definitely heard that gluten-free baked goods can be pretty hit or miss, but I genuinely couldn’t tell that these were gluten-free. They were very moist (ps, this is the only context in which that word is appropriate…ever). I don’t think I’d purchase them again, not because they were bad, but purely because I like to bake my own muffins.
If you’re an In-N-Out lover like me, you ask for extra sauce packets when you order and then store them in your refrigerator to recreate your own In-N-Out magic at home. And if you don’t…you should. Well, Trader Joe’s might just be changing the game with this Magnifisauce ($2.99)! We haven’t tried it yet, but I’m excited to put it on our next batch of turkey burgers and I might just have to try to make my own animal style fries!
I was introduced to “toasted ravs” by one of my best friends who lives just outside St. Louis. I really think it’s a regional item because I had never heard of them in my life before she explained them to me! These Breaded Fried Ravioli ($3.99) are a new item at Trader Joe’s, so I figured they were worth a try. We don’t have an air fryer, but there are air fryer, frying pan, and oven instructions. I can’t wait for some crispy and cheesy deliciousness! I have a feeling that these would be a perfect Valentine’s Day dinner appetizer if you plan to eat at home this year.
Have you tried any of Trader Joe’s sparkling beverages? I really like the Honeycrisp apple one that’s only available in the fall, and the strawberry one that seems to be available year-round. This new Sparkling Lemon & Strawberry Apple Cider Vinegar Beverage ($1.69) caught my eye this month. Isn’t the design on the can so cute?
Bacon + cheddar together = <3 Do I need any more of an explanation about how this Bacon Cheddar Cheese ($7.49/lb) made it into my cart? We haven’t opened it yet, but I think it’s going to be a great addition to my next charcuterie board!
Now for some other random items…
I like to have a Creamy Spinach Artichoke Dip ($2.99) in my freezer at all times. It’s so easy to heat up, and is perfect for entertaining. It tastes great fresh out of the microwave and is still delicious once it’s cooled down. Surprisingly, this dip does not have the worst nutrition facts! I’m not sure how that’s possible given that it’s a cheesy dip, but I’ll take it!
This item isn’t particularly abnormal, per say, but I’ve been on a serious cereal kick, so when I saw these Strawberry Yogurt O’s ($3.49) they quickly found their way into my cart! I’m excited to see if the milk turns pink, because that would make them extra fun!
Alright, this last item isn’t a food find (even though they kind of look like wafers in my opinion), but I have been wanting to try these Pop-Up Sponges ($7.99) for some time now! Wow…that sentence is making me feel very middle-aged. Many of the sponges we all use (especially those with the scrubby side) have microplastics that are absolutely terrible for the environment, our bodies, and honestly our pots and pans, too! I haven’t opened them up, but I’m prepared to be amazed as they get bigger in the water. I’ll be sure to post an update about them next month!
Alright, that’s all for February! Have you purchased anything new from Trader Joe’s this month? I’m always looking for the inside scoop 🙂
xoxo
