Life Update

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t posted in *gulp* over two weeks! I’m painfully aware that I’m behind on sharing new Trader Joe’s items, recipes, and more with you. But, the truth of the matter is that we’ve been kind of busy over here. And by kind of busy, I mean…BUSY BUYING A HOUSE!

Yup, you heard it right! Gary and I are officially homeowners in Goleta and we could not be more excited. We were lucky enough that the stars finally aligned for us in this wild seller’s market. We officially closed on our home purchase on 7/7. I always knew 7’s were a lucky number 🙂

The reality of the situation is that it’s Thursday night and the fact that I haven’t posted has been hanging over my head, so I just wanted to put it out into the universe that I’m still here! I just haven’t been cooking much, and haven’t had much spare time or the mental capacity to dedicate to blog posts. In fact, I usually have a two week meal plan and I don’t even have a grocery list for this week yet. Our drying rack with pool towels and swimsuits from last weekend is still up in the living room. I have a stack of mail that needs to be gone through. We’ve had far more pizza, takeout, breakfast for dinner, and frozen Chinese from Trader Joe’s than I’d care to admit over the last few weeks, too.

I’m sure you get the picture, but truly, who knew that a 20 day close of escrow on a home purchase would be so time consuming?! My focus will be on getting us squared away for the big move in the coming weeks, but I absolutely cannot wait to cook more in our new kitchen (with much more counter space)! And, rest assured I’ll definitely post more about our home buying process, and show you more details about our home in the coming months. I’m thinking this even warrants a new section of the blog…#thepeifferpalace anyone?
