I figured if I’m going to have a whole section about #beinggarried on The Peiffer Palate, I should probably explain what that means! My wonderful husband’s name is Gary, and when we were engaged to be married, I found it extremely important to have a catchy wedding hashtag (can’t wait to look back on that 20 years from now and laugh)! So, with the help of my very clever bridesmaid (looking at you, Alicia), #gettinggarried was created. Obviously, the wedding planning chapter of our lives is over, so it has since transitioned to #beinggarried.
So who is Gary?? One blog post isn’t going to do him justice, so here are a few basics and fun intricacies for starters 🙂
- Gary is a Gaucho! We actually met while we were students at UC Santa Barbara.
- By day, Gary works as an Accounting Manager, but we like to refer to him as the CFO of this household. (And I just have to point out that by default, that makes me the CEO)
- Even though he looks like a total model in our professional wedding photos, Gary hates to take photos! Just know that anytime you see a photo of him on here that I took, there was either bribery or some serious mean-mugging involved.
- Gary is a total night owl, but he insists on coming to bed with me at my grandma bedtime each night. While I’m slumbering, you can find him reading or watching Netflix on his phone under the covers so he doesn’t disturb me.
- I can always rely on Gary to add items like chips and juice to the grocery list. Those are his weaknesses.
- Gary is a huge Denver Broncos fan! When we first started dating, I used to joke that I had to compete with Tim Tebow for his love.
- On a trivia team, you can count on Gary to provide movie, sports, and video game knowledge.
- Gary is a kid at heart. From playing with Legos and Mario Kart, to being a bit mischievous at times, he’s just trying to live his best life.
- Since we started dating, Gary has been trying to get me to go camping with him. Almost a decade later it still hasn’t happened, but you have to admire his persistence!
- Gary is terrified of sharks but has a complete fascination with Shark Week every year.
In all seriousness, though. Gary is the best. He’s my biggest fan. He supports my dreams, my random obsessions, and was the driving force behind me actually taking the leap to start this blog. Everyone needs a Gary in their life. I’m so grateful for him every single day, and I can’t wait to share more about him and our life together on the blog. Thanks for reading!
xoxo
